Connections

Today we stay connected via e-mail; texting or Facebook, face-to-face is less common. I’ve seen people who are walking side by side and are not engaging with each other but rather with their phones thumbs moving at record speeds. I understand that things change and we might have to adapt but there’s something to be said about sharing moments with people that enhances your life.

With the limited face time we experience is it any wonder why we feel disconnected, alone and depressed at times. We are not meant to interact via machines only. We need to spend more time making connections that include face time.

With the disconnection between face to face it really isn’t surprising that we struggle with connecting with God. Since we can’t see Him we tend to think of Him a distant relative who we drop a line when we think of it or have time.

The thing is God wants to be connected to us. He wants to be involved in our lives. Influencing our choices in how we treat people, what we buy, watch, and listen to. He wants us to come to Him with joys to celebrate and our pains to carry for us.

It seems like an impossible task to get to know the creator of the universe but it isn’t. While there will always be aspects of Him beyond our comprehension. He invites us to seek Him. The more time we spend in prayer and reading His word filling our souls with His truth the more He reveals Himself to us.

Spend some time with Him and others. God is calling us to be connected to Him and each other.
